AEC Annual Meeting in Bahrain, 2015

The AEC’s 2015 annual meeting took place in Manama, Bahrain, on the 10th of January.

 

The event featured three sessions aimed at comprehensively understanding the dynamics of oil prices. The first session delved into the causes and consequences of the ongoing decline in oil prices, exploring factors such as supply and demand fluctuations, geopolitical tensions, and market speculation. The second session focused on the intricate process of oil price formation, examining the role of various stakeholders, including producers, consumers, and financial markets. Lastly, a discussion centred on the lessons gleaned and the implications for oil-exporting nations from the significant oil price downturns of 1986 and 1998, offering insights into strategies for mitigating economic vulnerabilities and fostering resilience in the face of volatile oil markets.
