AEC Annual Meeting in Jordan, 2014
The AEC’s 2014 annual meeting took place in Amman, Jordan, on the 5th of June.
The event’s agenda included discussions on three pertinent topics in the energy sector. The first session analysed current geopolitical issues and their ramifications on the energy landscape, providing insights into how geopolitical tensions influence energy markets and policies. The second session delved into the impact of shale gas developments on the petrochemicals industry in the region, exploring how advancements in shale gas extraction techniques have reshaped the competitive dynamics and supply chains within the petrochemicals sector. Lastly, the session focused on renewable energy developments in the region’s power sector, offering an overview of the current status and progress of renewable energy projects, highlighting efforts toward diversifying energy sources and promoting sustainability in the region’s power generation.
Following the event, the club members went on a field trip to Shell’s Shale Oil Project (JOSCO).
