AEC Annual Meeting in the United Arab Emirates, 2013

The AEC’s 2013 annual meeting took place in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on the 5th of January.

 

The club’s event agenda covered essential energy-related topics. It included sessions on Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) as a National Oil Company, focusing on lessons learned; electricity reforms in Jordan, exploring complexities and implications; the Saudi Arabian power and desalinated water sectors, particularly the role of Independent Power Producers (IPPs) and Independent Water and Power Producers (IWPPs); and current issues in the oil market, examining recent developments and trends. Lastly, a session addressed the most recent regional and global developments and their potential consequences on the Arab world, providing insights into geopolitical and economic factors shaping the energy landscape.
