Arab Energy Club Visit to the International Energy Agency with Dr Fatih Birol

AEC President Dr. Carole Nakhle, accompanied by Club members Dr. Adnan Shihab-Eldin, Kate Dourian FEI, Dr. Manal Abdel-Samad NAJD, and Yesar Al-Maleki, visited International Energy Agency headquarters in Paris on June 20 for a meeting with IEA Executive Director Dr. Fatih Birol.

This was a courtesy visit arranged by AEC member Mr Ali Saffar, Head of Division for Europe, Middle East, Africa and Latin America at the IEA. The courtesy visit included a brief discussion on regional energy security, rising electricity demand in the MENA region, the growing relevance of critical minerals, the contribution of Arab talent to the IEA’s work and the status of the global climate agenda.
